Merry Christmas All!!!

Wow... it has been a while since my last entry.

A quick update:
I am now in Cape Town with the family and return to the UK on the 28th Dec. From there it is only 10 days until I depart to South America!

I am currently in a hung over state after indulging a bit too much these past few days!

Weather is 30 deg C today with a nice cooling breeze... Cape Town will be missed greatly when I leave

Riverdance (my trusty Irish travel companion) has spent a great deal of time compiling an excellent itinerary... which I have now blatantly plagiarised below (cos I am too lazy at this moment to do my own)

December 28th - Buenos Aires, Argentina (Elaine & Irina)
December 31st -Bariloche
January 4th - La Pampa (Horse ranch - meet Pali)
January 9th - Buenos Aires (meet Adam)
January 12th - El Calafate, Fitz Roy, El Chalten, Glaciers National Park
January 20th - Torres del Paine, Chile (Irina to London)
February 1st - Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego
February - Mendoza, Santiago, Uruguay, Iguazu Falls, Brazil


March - Brazil (Sao Paulo, Rio, Salvador), Bolivia (Adam to Peru, Elaine to meet Sarah, La Paz)
April - Ecuador, Columbia, boat trip to Panama
May - Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico
June - Mexico, Las Vegas, Los Angeles
June 19th - Fly to London (Elaine)
July - NYC
July 6th - Fly to London (Adam)

Is it really all over???

So I have now been in the UK for a couple of weeks living with my brother. It has been really great catching up with him and my friends and thankfully the summer here lingers on so my tan hasn't totally faded yet! I also weighed myself upon my return and was shocked to see that I was a measly 78kg, almost 6kg lighter than when I had left! The strangest thing I felt when I touched down back in London was that I could clearly recall the day I trudged out of my apartment in West Hampstead with my wheelie bag to embark on this 7 month journey. Nothing seems to have changed much from when I left besides cosmetic alterations. London life continues as it always has and I seem to have slotted in quite neatly without any trouble whatsoever. That's not to say I haven't needed to adjust though! Being responsible is a job in itself I have found. Now I need to find a employment to recoup my funds. The question I suppose most people are interested in is whether I have changed and whether...

I am such a wuss

Had my injections today and almost passed out Now i have a dead arm and feel sorry for myself On a more positive note I now am protected from the evils of Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hep A, B, C, Diptheria, Tetanus and Malaria Riverdance is trying to convince me to take a 10 day super-hike in Patagonia so it looks like I may need to find a sturdy pair of boots and a backpack. Now that the UK is officially in recession (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7686552.stm)it looks like my job prospects on return are going to be limited... maybe I should just hang out on the beach for a year and jump in when everything calms down... very tempting yes... if anybody is considering supporting this extended holiday I will be setting up a charity fund. All proceeds will go to me to support my social endeavors.

Buenos Aires Numero Dos: Spanish, Food, Tango and Party Party Party

BUENOS AIRES..... AGAIN :) Back in sunny Buenos Aires! The flight from Ushuaia was comfortable and we arrived fairly late at our apartment in the Barrio of San Telmo. We were greeted by our “party” liaisons Jose (Argentina) and Kate (America) from the company “ I GO BUENOS AIRES ” who showed us around our small cozy apartment. We had only briefly visited this neighbourhood on our first stay in BA but it is renowned for its bohemian atmosphere and classical architecture. Kate and Jose had conveniently compiled our entire week’s itinerary so we wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. However, there was a bit of a disaster as I could not find my UK debit card (suspected lost in an ATM in Ushuaia) and had to call the bank to stop it. This meant I couldn’t draw any cash out and had to rely on Riverdance and my remaining funds to survive. Not ideal at all!!. It also doesn’t help that hardly any places accept credit cards.
